Christina Aguilera - Bionic - Album
Have you seen this album cover? Its pretty bad awesome! Look out Lady Gaga Christina Aguilera is coming out swinging.
I am calling it right now, Christina is going to be big with this record and inspire a lot of hair and fashion trends from this.
Just from the cover alone it screams! the 80's of today. She is making a fashion statement full force with this look on the cover and fighting for the throne of the modern day Madonna.
Her hair is awesome! Perfect in this cover and I really can't wait to see what wonderful things come from this record.
Also she will have a show on VH1 that breaks through the trash of "reality " and gives us a little bit of reality with a "behind the music" based show.
Not always a fan - But I am in love with this.

How to properly apply hair color.
Recently I attended an amazing color class and I thought I would share a little bit about my new application discovery's with you.
Now possibly this might not be news for some of you? But for me and those of you who do find this as news, I think you will enjoy.
So we are taught when applying hair color to saturate the hair and apply to both sides of the section, especially on the gray, yes? Well in my case yes and as a colorist its something I have been doing for years.
Next time do 2 things different.
1. Take 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch sections, depending on density and porosity of the hair and apply your hair color to just the back of each section. By doing this the small sections and the compression will keep your color properly saturated and safe from the possibility of overlapping of color.
and...
2. When working around the hair line, especially grays, try using a brow brush to apply the color, to keep the color from smearing on to the scalp and prevent color from staining the skin.
These new hot tips have worked wonders for me, not only in time, but results. I urge you all to give it a go!

Formula of the week!
Want to give your guest the perfect brown on brown?
Starting level: 3 or 4
Desired: Neutral to Subtle Warm Brown Level 5
Formula: 5A(ash)G(Green) - Choose your developer according to density and starting level.
Why?
Well of course the color wheel. Starting with a Natural level 3 or 4 we are dealing with an undertone of a Violet or Red-Violet. As we use our pro-oxide additive to our formula, the pro-oxide will begin to remove natural melanin and leave us with an undertone of RED. Using the AG series will help to neutralize the red leaving us with a beautiful neutral to subtle warm brown.
Want to spice this up?
When applying the color to the ends take = parts of 6AG and 6AB and apply in super fine sections this formula to your ends with 20 vol.
This will create a beautiful soft dimension.

Quickest way to put a beach wave to your hair.
Want those beautiful bouncy beach waves to your hair in under 2 minutes?
Here is a quick step by step. Following these steps will give you beautiful beach size waves with a hint of glamor, but PERFECT for everyday.
If your hair is dirty or needs to be cleansed prior to styling follow these first 3 steps. If your hair is clean or ready to be heat styled with an iron skip steps 1-3 and start with step 4.
1. Shampoo and Condition your hair with a voluminous shampoo and conditioner. I use Redken Body full of course!
2. Apply a serum based and a voluminous based styling product to your hair.
3. Blow dry with a large round brush with maximum smoothness and volume.
4. Apply a heat styling agent to dry hair.
5. Take a 3 inch section Vertically coming straight out from the side of your head, starting on the left side and working around your head in a counter clockwise manner for the following sections.
6. With a 1 and 1/2 inch iron and the barrel of your iron pointing up roll the hair towards your face and stop just after the half way point of the section.
7. Repeat around the head until you reach the other side of your ear.
8. Apply one dot size of serum in your hands and lightly break up your curl, spray with hair spray for added hold.
