In response to the global event and NY Fashion Week. NY participated in this amazing night of Fashion.
" As part of a global initiative to promote retail, restore consumer confidence, and celebrate fashion, Vogue magazine and the City of New York have declared the first evening’s festivities to be very special as Fashion’s Night Out. Hundreds of major retailers, including J&R Music & Computer World, will join the celebration with special promotions and events.
Initially announced at a press conference by Mayor Bloomberg (who was escorted by Anna Wintour, Zac Posen, Oscar de la Renta, Caroline Herrera, and Vera Wang), the fast-growing event, on the evening of September 10, will entail everything from special in-store events to parties, personal appearances by designers and celebrities, live music, fashion shows, freebies, charity tie-ins, and extended shopping hours till 11 p.m., enticing potential customers. The event will coincide with the start of New York Fashion Week, and (so far) approximately 700 stores across New York’s five boroughs have agreed to participate.
